For the first time, the public got a glimpse of Michael in Air Jordan 1s in this Nike poster photo. Ever. Jordan chose the Royals because they were his favorite team and they were the first colorway of the Air Jordan 1 to be released to the public. Unlike the other two most popular colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Retro, neither the "Banned" nor the "Chicago" pairs were ever worn by Michael Jordan on the court. There have been three new Royals albums since 1985: in 2001, 2013, and 2017.
